Accounting Manager - Agriculture, GAAP, Financial Reporting

Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing processes of the organization. This role ensures compliance with GAAP and maintains the integrity of financial information while leading a team of accounting professionals.

This position will report to the Controller. Requires working work cross-functionally and has 3 direct reports : Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory Management. Previous managerial experience a must have for this position. We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated team member that produces an accurate, dependable quality of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP
• Develop and manage budgets and forecasts to support organizational goals
• Lead the audit process and liaise with external auditors
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial operations
• Oversee inventory management and ensure accurate reporting
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management
• Manage the General Ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Utilize ERP systems, preferably Epicor, for financial management and reporting
• Provide mentorship and supervision to the accounting team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA certification preferred
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Epicor
• Bilingual skills are a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
