Head of Intellectual Property - Overseas - Perm

Unique opportunity! Established worldwide gaming company seeking professional IP Attorney with experience within the gaming industry.

Work in either USA remotely, but expect to work 11 hour ahead time zone. 

Relocation package to work in Bangkok, Thailand or Dubai (preferred), and may consider candidates interested to move to South Africa, Brazil, or Malta.

This is a rare opportunity to build an IP department from scratch, establishing the global strategy, enforcement framework, and compliance operations. As Head of Intellectual Property, you'll drive high-impact IP initiatives that fortify brand equity, block infringements, and monetize assets while operating remotely from Bangkok, Dubai, Malta, or South Africa.

  • Lead, develop & execute a global IP strategy, aligning protections with commercial growth. 
  • Manage trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and domains, ensuring airtight registrations and renewals.
  • Lead enforcement programs, including litigation, oppositions, cancellations, anti-piracy, and anti-phishing actions. 
  • Oversee international IP portfolios, tracking audit-ready records through industry-leading IP-management tools. 
  • Collaborate with external counsel on cross-border disputes, litigation, and settlement strategies. 
  • Advise product, marketing, and M&A teams on IP licensing, clearances, and digital brand protections. 
  • Implement brand-protection technology, including takedown tools, monitoring platforms, and anti-counterfeiting solutions. 
  • Build and mentor an IP team, setting objectives, approving budgets, and ensuring operational excellence.
  • Educate stakeholders through internal training programs on IP compliance, brand usage, and invention disclosures. 

What we are looking for:

  • Licensed lawyer with 8+ years focused on trademarks, patents, and enforcement. 
  • 5+ years managing global IP portfolios in multinational gaming or tech companies. 
  • Extensive experience with WIPO & major IP offices (EUIPO, USPTO, UKIPO, INPI, etc.). 
  • Proven track record in cross-border litigation, oppositions, and settlements.
  • Expertise in digital brand-protection tools, including anti-piracy and fraud detection platforms. 
  • Strong commercial acumen, balancing IP security with go-to-market speed. 
  • Exceptional negotiation & contract drafting skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
