Senior Accountant

Accounting Director or Senior Accounting Manager level experience needed!

This is not your typical accounting role.  We are looking for someone that is comfortable be a client facing Consultant with accounting and tax experience.  Our clients are typically owners of medium to small businesses in the $50 million-$250 million range. We provide services for our clients that go beyond saving them money on their taxes.  As an example we might offer a different bank they should use and help them with that.  We will also analyze their taxes and we are often able to save our clients $1 million annually, in comparison to the CPA that has just been processing their taxes. 

Essentially we need someone that has an entrepreneurial attitude and would enjoy managing a client and their portfolio.  Providing expertise and consulting advice around accounting, tax and etc...

Office location: Basking Ridge, NJ

$170,000-$250,000/year salary

Position Overview/ Key Responsibilities

• Client facing, account management, consulting, accounting and tax

  Experience with the following and not limited to the following:

• Hands-on experience in recurring accounting operations
• Month-end close across multiple entities
• Managing GLs
• Preparing financials in a controllership or outsourced capacity
• Accounting and tax
• Worked with privately held, lower middle market companies
• Review/compilation on the accounting side
• True tax planning work for partnerships and S corps on the tax side
• 
  Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations
• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and variances
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits
• Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures
• Assist in the development of internal controls to safeguard company assets

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
• Proven experience in corporate accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
