As a Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and reviewing complex tax filings, managing client relationships, and supporting the firm's continued growth. Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance & Planning:
- Prepare, review, and manage the preparation of individual and partnership tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Provide high-level tax consulting, planning, and strategy services to clients, including tax-efficient structures for individuals and partnerships.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax documents, managing deadlines, and delivering high-quality work.
- Client Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong, lasting relationships.
- Identify clients' tax needs and offer solutions that minimize their tax liabilities.
- Collaborate with clients to address complex tax issues, advising them on tax strategies, new tax laws, and opportunities.
- Leadership & Team Development:
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and development opportunities.
- Review the work of staff accountants and provide constructive feedback.
- Delegate and prioritize tasks to ensure optimal workflow and team efficiency.
- Quality Control & Review:
- Review tax filings and related documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Ensure that all work meets the firm's high standards for quality, consistency, and client satisfaction.
- Firm Growth & Development:
- Contribute to the firm's business development by identifying new opportunities and assisting with marketing efforts.
- Stay current on industry trends, tax law changes, and best practices, integrating this knowledge into client strategies.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation required; Master's degree in Taxation is a plus.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience, with a focus on individual and partnership taxation.
- Strong understanding of tax laws, compliance, and planning strategies for individuals and partnerships.
- Experience with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on providing top-notch client service.
